PETERBOROUGH, NH — GoMonadnock and Peterborough Town Library announced a partnership to host the first-ever Peterborough Parley: Debates and Salon. The debates will feature candidates from the contested races for Budget Committee and the Planning Board. The educational event will help voters learn more about the candidates and their qualifications for office and promises to be off-beat and entertaining.

“We thought it would be interesting to try something a little different than a candidate forum this year. We have some tough questions ready for the debate and will be publishing an additional completed questionnaire from each candidate on our website at GoMonadnock.com,” Chris Diloreto, Co-editor of GoMonadnock said.

The Parley will be held at Peterborough Town Library on Thursday, May 5 at 6 p.m. in the 1833 Room. Debate moderators will be Zoe Wroten-Heinzmann and Chris DiLoreto. Other speakers will include Library Director Corinne Chronopoulos and Select Board member Bill Taylor.

“We hope people attend and learn more about who they are voting into office. These are really important positions! Our Town Meeting process can be a bit confusing, so part of our goal is to make this fun and demystify Town Meeting. All ages are welcome to attend,” Library Director Corinne Chronopoulos said.

The event will be live and will not be recorded.

Peterborough Town Library is located at 2 Concord Street in Peterborough and is open
